“Great Guides Great Tours”

Used Pacz for our ATM and a private tour of Tikal. The owner, Bob always responded very quickly to all my email and questions. We stopped in at the office to confirm our tours for the next day, we told him of our luggage being lost by the airline. He offered to follow up on on lost luggage and let me use his phone to call the airline as well. He also told us what sites were best to visit by ourselves, and what we really a gudie for. He could have very well tried to sell us tours to the smaller sites, but was honest with us.

In terms of the tours all was great. The vans were in good working order with no mechanical issues. The guides were knowledgeable, and above all safe, as we were doing some pretty hairy stuff at times (ATM caves) You could tell they took pride in what they do, and their heritage.

There are places in the ATM caves that are closed off to visitors, I respect this and so did our guides. You already get so close to artifacts as it is, and things have been broken by clumsy tourists. In any case, another tour compnay Mayawalk did not seem to respect these rules, as their groups were going into places that were off limits to the public, it really seemed to upset our guide that they were doing this.

In any case Thanks to Bob and Pacz for a great time.

“Excellent Guides”

Recently got back from Belize and did both the ATM tour and Tikal day trip with Pacz. Both were great experiences. In each case, the tour guides were professional and very well-organized, picking us up from our lodge (Chaa Creek) on time.

The ATM tour was a lot of fun. You do need to be comfortable with spending time hiking through cold water in a cave. But the payoff is pretty unique - a large inner chamber with tons of Mayan artifacts and skeletons. The guide was quite knowledgeable. He set a pretty quick pace and didn't baby us, which I appreciated, but might be a little too fast for some who are accustomed to a more leisurely pace.

The Tikal tour was amazing. Our guide's name was Hugo (sp?), and he was by far the best guide I've ever had. Incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Maya, their culture, the animals we saw, the plants. Amazingly well-spoken and well-informed. It felt like we were taking the tour with a professor. Just the right level of detail and pace. We got so much more out of the tour because of him. All of the transportation across the border was handled seamlessly and very professionally. We were very impressed.

Overall, a very professional and well-organized outfit. Would highly recommend.

Actun Tunichil Muknal

The Belize ATM Cave is near San Ignacio Cayo District and is considered one of the top Maya Caves in Belize. It is an archaeological site that includes skeletons, ceramics and stoneware.
